I would like to introduce you to our web site, and tell you a little bit about us. My name is Doug Howe webmaster, Diesel Mechanic, avid hiker and outdoor enthusiast. From the time I was very young living in the Pacific N.W., throughout my life I have enjoyed being outdoors and seeing the many things that lifestyle has to offer from hiking to remote areas fishing in pristine lakes and rivers, to hunting and working in the field, being around majestic forest it becomes part of you that takes hold and won’t let go, not that I would let go of my love of the outdoors by any means. I thought I could impart my view and some of our staffs experiences to share with you and maybe some of you would some of your outdoor stories with all of us.
A lot of sites want to tell you about a mission statement. We here at Trail Explorers would rather it be called an "Adventure Statement". Our vision and is to grow this site and make it a viable thriving place to start, help you along the way and come back and tell your stories. But we know reality you just don’t know what is around the next corner, and to us that is what makes it truly an adventure. Much like it is to walk among the old timber, or alpine regions in the mountains, the deserts, the canyons and the most remote areas, that is the thrill of life, not really knowing, and looking for the next, awe inspiring experience.
Our adventure is pretty simple, supply good honest content and enjoy ourselves and hopefully bring enjoyment to site visitors and adventurers like us and you! Life for all of its twist and turns is there to be enjoyed as is nature. There is nothing more humbling than being outdoors with nothing between you and the weather, wildlife, and yourself but a thin layer of clothing and your brains!
My ambition is to create a web site that informs, entertains and gives experienced knowledge of trails and areas that can only be reached without a car! In this fast paced world we all need to slow down and what a better way, than to walk were you want to be and do it outside in a beautiful natural setting.
We are continually compiling information and setting up expeditions to trails in our local area at this time, to hike research and bring back here to post the story of our adventure. Our objectives are, research the history, terrain and equipment needed for the exploration. Actually go out with different teams and do the hike recording weather conditions, trail conditions, degree of difficulty, take some photographs and interview locals and fellow hikers to get the low down about a particular trail.
There are so many trails to hike and to explore to have a goal to get to them all would take many lifetimes, because after all, when one is complete another peaks your interest, and sometimes we like one so much we want to do it again, and to be honest some we never want to do again. I would like to invite you share your story with us so we can share it with others, there are many sites that do just what we do and we link to them because they are our friends on the trail, and if you know of any site that you think we should link to e-mail me and we will put it in our list places online to see.
This site has minimal advertisements and uses minimal pop ups or cookies to keep track of visitors a few text counters are here and there and links to ur partners which share the same feelings about site clutter and that’s it. We also started Trail Explorers Outpost in the back and just introduced a catalog to offer products for your outdoor adventure, Trail Explorers.com (information area of the site) is the parent of Trail Explorers Outpost, (the e-commerce section of the site).
All trails are fair game from the very remote, to trails close to urban areas there are many trails in the region we are beginning with the Pacific NW and as the site grows as we all hope it will so will the trail hiking experience. I hope you will come back and watch us change and grow over the coming days and years and enjoy the outdoors to the fullest thank you again for clicking by!
